Yesterday Andy had a follow-up visit with radiology. The tumor in his left iliac crest (hip wing) has shrunk from 12x9cm to 6x9cm in diameter. Unfortunately, they found tumors in both femoral necks...but X-rays showed the tumors won't warrant radiation or compromise the integrity of the bone.

If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or Fight Like Hell.

Please continue to keep Andy in your prayers.
Thank you and God Bless

Andy ventured out of the house for the first time on Wednesday. He spent four and half hours out in his brace successfully. With continued rest and strength training Andy will be able to go on more outings soon.

If you are in the area Andy would love visitors.

Thank you again for all the support, love, and prayers!!!

Andy has a good week at home under his belt. He has been sitting at the kitchen table for all of his meals and has been able to sit in his recliner for short periods of time. Andy will have in-home physical therapy on Tuesday to work on mastering our front door steps, as we will venture out of the house on our own for the first time on Wednesday for a doctors appointment. Andy is glad to be home but is experiencing cabin fever. Thanks to those who have visited, called, and lent Andy movies and books.

Andy has been released from the hospital and is resting comfortably at home. Sorry to those who may have visited the hospital in our absence.

Many prayers have been answered and Andy is continuously blessed each day. July 2nd and 3rd Andy was able to sit up at 90 degrees on the edge of his bed. July 4th he declared independence and left his bed!!! He stood for the first time after 25 days. The news gets better...today, July 5th, Andy walked around his room. Hopefully, in the next few days he will be able to leave his room for routine visits to the PT gym for exercise. Reis was at the hospital when Andy was walking around the room. She repeatedly said, "look at daddy, look at daddy." She was as excited as everyone else.
We can't thank our supporters enough. We appreciate the cards, emails, visits and prayers. Your thoughtfulness and love has carried us through these past weeks.
Love and many thanks,
The Estey Family

Here is Andy's Radiology team.
Dr. Voynov, Robyn, Kari, Destry, Kay, Morgan, and Angie (a.k.a Surly). As you can see Andy dressed up for his last appointment on Friday. The tie was donated by the Director, Phillip Blumberg the previous day. Andy is the first patient they recall going formal to an appointment.

I wish to give special thanks to the radiology crew for making my treatment so enjoyable. They took a very frightening, confusing, and scary prospect and made it something to look forward to everyday. They balanced humor and professionalism to put me at ease, and feel as if I was the center of attention from a caring tight-knit group of truly talented and concerned individuals. I am sure I received the best possible care while in their hands...from their smooth table transports to the ease at which I was delicately placed in the cannon ball.
~With Sincere Thanks,
Andy Estey
